"A 3rd Gender?"

   Homosexuals abound in the Philippines. There are more gays or "Bayots", than there are lesbians or "Tomboys". Some have even confessed that they had their sex changed in the Philippines.

  A recognizable feature among "Bayots" are their unrestricted humor and talkativeness. Vice Ganda, a gay comedian host in one of Philippines' famous noon time show, is as popular as he is loved by millions. His antics and his show are a big hit. I'm even convinced that the wonderful humor and the gossips shared by the show are the reasons for its popularity.

  Gays really love themselves and are skilled in pampering their features - make up-wise. Moreover, they have no problem expressing their feminine feelings and liberated opinions anytime in public.This respected freedom to express one's feelings is one of the things I admire and love about the Philippine culture.



    Unfortunately in Japan, homosexuals still could not display their "true feelings" before the masses. They have to "hide" their gender preference in a society where people are as judgmental as they are prejudiced. One of my Japanes friends (a Tomboy) even confided to me that "It's difficult to date openly during daytime".

 I hope someday the Japanese society would be more understanding on its view on the third sex.

    1. the layout is nice although i suggest that u put more color to ur site, hmmmm for me, the color would represent one culture over the otherm ;) and the font is too small :)

    but overall appearance is nice, ur background picture is very meaningful, it seems like ur really documenting the difference between the two culture,

    2. it's simple no hassle it doesn't have unnecessary links :)

    3.i enjoyed ur blog :) seems like uv'e known filipinos well, :) i'm happy to hear that from u ate onesan :) u made a blog about Philippine culture. i can reallyt feel that ur proud to JAPINAY ^^,

    4. it's nice that i give information about filipinos, many other countries had judged filipinos as hmmmmmmmmm ___ :) u know, but i'm happy that uv'e shown the true image of philippines with r own perspective :)))

    5. first i really like ur url address i also love pansit cnton :) bit i think it would be hard to advertise ur blog since there only a few people who type "pansit canton" on there search engine :) but it would not mean that ur blog wldnt be successful, u have a very unique site, uv'e given a personal touch to your audience, both pinoys and japanese, i can fee the real u in this page

    i enjoyed a lot :)

    hi ate maki.. your blog is already nice =) but it is much more better if you will put more pictures together with your personal experiences here in the Philippines.. =) since, this is our requirement, i suggest not to use japanese words because your audience most probably are Filipinos.. -mae-
